CILT99: ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

CILT99 is an opportunity to experience and shape innovation in learning technologies...

Collaboration between researchers, industry, and schools is essential to successful innovation. Unlike the typical large and anonymous conference, CILT99 is designed specifically to foster and even to fund new partnerships on project topics likely to have significant positive impact on the learning technology field.

As a participant in CILT99, you will:

  • Hear inspiring presentations and frank discussions about the promise and challenge of learning technology innovation in our schools.
  • Try out the new learning technology tools that will be commonplace in a few years, setting the agenda for our efforts today.
  • Discover and further the state of knowledge in the field by sharing your current work with new colleagues who are leaders in education, research, industry, and government.
  • Take part in matchmaking opportunities in which participants together brainstorm projects of importance to the field, forming cross-institutional collaborations in areas of mutual interest.
  • Begin drafting CILT mini-grant applications with other participants, for proof-of-concept funding that will get you going.

CILT99 is being held at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, CA. The annual CILT conference alternates coasts; CILT2000 is being planned for the Washington, DC area.
